and appreciate all volunteers!
We rely heavily on the dedication, passion and talent of volunteers of all kinds, from all walks of life. As our programs expand, we will need even more friends willing to dedicate their time and compassion to enhancing the quality of life of people living with dementia.

How do I get started?
Please complete the Volunteer Form and sign up for a four-part training. You’ll get an overview of what dementia is and isn’t, a sense of our approach at ARTZ Philadelphia, and some time to learn and practice together. You’ll also gain hands-on experience working with our program participants. After training with us, you can begin volunteering as soon as you feel comfortable.
I'm only available evenings and weekends. Can I still volunteer?
All of our monthly ARTZ on the Road, ARTZ @ the Museum, and ARTZ in the Making programs take place on weekday mornings and afternoons. There are periodic opportunities for volunteering behind the scenes in person and remotely – between exhibitions, community engagement days, and special events, we hope to find a good time and an exciting way for you to get involved!
What kinds of volunteering opportunities are available?
In-person volunteering at art making and/or art appreciation programs in care communities, volunteering in person at museum programs, and volunteering behind the scenes with ARTZ Philadelphia staff and/or remotely (help with the organization's annual art exhibition, special events, and communications.)
Where do your programs take place?
Programs take place at partnering day centers, care communities, arts centers, museums, and other cultural centers throughout Greater Philadelphia (Including Bensalem, Bryn Mawr, Center City, Chadds Ford, Chestnut Hill, Doylestown, Germantown, Haverford, Horsham, Mount Airy, Royersford, and Warminster.)
We are engaged in community-based projects in Hunting Park, Germantown, Logan, Olney, and West Oak Lane.
