Jean Kirkley

BOARD CONSTITUENT ADVOCATE

Jean Kirkley joined the ARTZ Philadelphia board in 2025.

As CEO and facilitator of Boomers ‘R Heroes, Jean leads a support group focused on improving the health and well-being of unpaid family caregivers and care partners. The group provides a confidential forum for caregivers to share challenges and experiences, addressing a critical gap in available support programs. Jean has established and sustained strategic partnerships with leading community organizations and aging resource leaders across Philadelphia and neighboring counties including the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA), North City Congress (NCC), New Courtland/InnovAge, AARP,  Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter, and, of course, ARTZ Philadelphia!

“I am inspired to serve on the Board of ARTZ Philadelphia because of its exceptional reputation for supporting the aging community and their care partners, particularly those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. Having formed a working relationship with Susan Shifrin, Founder and Executive Director, I have felt we will work well together assisting our caregiver community. The organization’s innovative arts programs are both impactful and unique. It is an honor to contribute to such an inclusive and distinguished outreach initiative.”
