LEAD VOLUNTEER

Christine (Chris) McLaughlin is a Lead Volunteer for ARTZ Philadelphia. She joined the organization in December 2022 as a volunteer with ARTZ in the Making.

Chris received her Masters in Elementary Education from Cabrini College in 1997 and was an educator at Holy Child Academy in Drexel Hill, PA for 18 years. Chris was the assistant teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom and the assistant and head teacher in the kindergarten classroom. During her last 5 years at Holy Child Academy, Chris taught science and computers to children in first to third grades and ran the Holy Child Summer Camp program for three years.

Chris retired from teaching in June of 2008 and was called back to Holy Child Academy in the fall to take on the role of Admission Director, a position she held at Holy Child for an additional 7 years. A year after retiring for the second time in 2015, Chris began working for Seniors Helping Seniors as a companion for clients living with Alzheimer’s. Through her role as a companion Chris was introduced to ARTZ Philadelphia and has participated in many ARTZ programs.

“I am excited to begin a new role with ARTZ Philadelphia as a Lead Volunteer. It is rewarding to see the joy and happiness as our clients create beautiful art. Every individual interprets art differently and the results are amazing!”
