Join us Thursday April 23rd from 11:00AM-12PM at Kaiserman JCC for ARTZ Philly Side By Side, a unique pilot program designed specifically for care pairs—care partners (caregivers) and their loved ones living with dementia.
This special event features two programs happening at the same time and in the same welcoming space, offering meaningful, individualized experiences for both members of the pair.
While care partners focus on self-care and connection, their loved ones are simultaneously engaged in creative expression—allowing both to benefit, together and apart.
This program is designed exclusively for care pairs, one care partner and their loved one living with dementia, so please be sure to register for two.
For Care Partners – Daune Marie:
Daune Marie is a certified restorative arts facilitator and grief support specialist. She is the founder of Blooming Peace Studio which offers creative expression experiences for social connection and community—making peace in the world one heart at a time.
For People Living with Dementia – Afzal Iqbal:
Afzal (or Zal) is a musician who enjoys sharing songs and creating welcoming spaces where people can sing, remember, and connect through music. His sessions blend music-making, conversation, and the stories behind beloved songs. Outside of music, he enjoys spending time with others, capturing moments on film, and walking in nature.
Light refreshments will be served at this program. If you have any dietary restrictions, please list them in the “Want to add a comment?” section on the registration form.
For more information please email smalls@artzphilly.org.
