Mural Project Ribbon-Cutting

We’re excited to announce that the dedication ceremony for the Hunting Park community mural, created through our ARTZ in the Neighborhood project, will be held on November 1. The mural project is the result of a multi-year collaboration among ARTZ in the Neighborhood’s Hunting Park Community Advisors, Esperanza Health Center, Mural Arts Philadelphia, Vocatio Career Prep High School, and other organizations in the Hunting Park area.

After a series of community conversations and hands-on activities, community stakeholders have co-created a mural with Betsy Casañas, a much beloved, talented mural artist from the Fairhill/Hunting Park community. Bringing her decades of experience and integrating the imagery, symbolism, and stories of all participating, Betsy designed a phenomenal piece of art capturing the heart of Hunting Park. We look forward to sharing this community-driven project with you in its full glory!

The dedication ceremony starts at 10:00 AM and will be followed by a reception, co-hosted by our community partner Esperanza Health Center, and a special Music in the Neighborhood concert sponsored by Acadia Pharmaceuticals.

The completed mural will be located adjacent to Esperanza Health Center, at 4417 N. 6th Street Philadelphia, PA 19140.
