Rea Tajiri is a longtime supporter and artistic and educational partner of ARTZ Philadelphia. Her film in progress “Wisdom Gone Wild” chronicles her remarkable care partnership through the arts with her mother, Rose Noda Tajiri, who lived with vascular dementia for 16 years. ARTZ Philadelphia has an artist residency named for Rose.

Watch the trailer for Wisdom Gone Wild and watch as Rea and her mother “develop a vibrant relationship based on play, connection and humor. Rose’s dementia is revealed as a form of wisdom that has gone wild.”

In addition to Rea’s latest grant — the Leeway Foundation’s Leeway Transformation Award — her work on “Wisdom Gone Wild” has been funded by the ITVS Diversity Development Fund and CAAM’s Documentary Fund, among others.
