About The Event
Join us on August 25th at 10:30 am (EST). After you register, we will send you the Zoom link and instructions.
We have invited Elissa Lewin, Founder and Executive Director of Nancy’s House, to lead an interactive discussion about self-care during this continued period of challenge and change.
More about Elissa Lewin:
Elissa Lewin is a licensed psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist, and serial caregiver. She is the Founder and Executive Director of Nancy’s House. Elissa received her master’s degree from Temple University. She did post-graduate training at The Marriage Council of Philadelphia (now the Council for Relationships). She was an adjunct therapist there for nine years, and has maintained a private practice for over 30 years.
Elissa founded Nancy’s House in 2004 to fill a need for service to family caregivers. Caregivers are the invisible backbone of our healthcare system. Yet, historically, there have been few services available to support them, despite the constant cry of “Caregivers need to take care of themselves.”
Nancy’s House breaks the isolation and exhaustion that can come with taking care of someone who is ill or someone with a disability. With 1-day and 3-day retreats, conferences, and workshops, Nancy’s House builds a community of support, nurtures guests, and teaches how to care for yourself while caring for others.
Cafés for Care Partners are an opportunity to get together informally outside the context of a support group. The cafes are definitely supportive – but they're also periods of respite, a chance to kick back, go someplace new with new and old friends, and share a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
